Q: Does OneDose™ affect the cost of treatment?
A: If the patient is eligible for Medicare and Medicaid, the cost of dosimetry
should be covered. Prescribed properly, dosimetry should be covered. However,
there are national coverage limits; if a patient requests additional dosimetry
beyond the national coverage limits, it would then affect the cost of
treatment.
Q: Is OneDose™ covered by health insurance?
A: Yes; it has a national reimbursement code. We recommend submitting a claim
for OneDose™ using CPT code 77331 for Special Dosimetry (e.g., TLD,
microdosimetry) (specify) only when prescribed by the treating physician.
Please look under the reimbursement heading for more detailed information.
Q: Can the OneDose™ patch be reused?
A: No. It is used one time to ensure an accurate read.
Q: How will using OneDose™ benefit me?
A: It provides the radiation therapy team a more reliable method of monitoring
dose, including a system for permanently recoding the readings.
